Tata Motors is planning to introduce several new products in the Indian market in the next 12 months. The domestic manufacturer has been busy updating its lineup in recent months, with the launch of the updated Harrier and Safari following the launch of the Nexon and Nexon EV facelift, all of which have received significant updates inside and out.

It is already known that Tata is working on an electric version of the Punch micro SUV and it is expected to be unveiled in the coming months. It will be the first passenger EV from Tata to feature a charging port on the front fender. In addition to this, Tata will also launch the petrol version of the upcoming KERB EV before the arrival of its ICE-engine version next year.

The Tata Harrier EV was showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo at the beginning of this year and is likely to be launched next year as well. Shailendra Chandrashekhar, Managing Director of Tata Passenger Vehicles Limited and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, recently confirmed in an interview that all three upcoming EVs will offer a driving range of over 500 km on a single charge.

At the Auto Expo, Tata debuted a brand new 1.5-liter four-cylinder direct injection turbocharged petrol engine. Tata wants to capture a significant market share in the petrol SUV segment and is likely to launch it in the upcoming KERB midsize SUV before its sibling, the Harrier, and the three-row Safari.

Before the arrival of the petrol-spec Harrier, Tata can expand its lineup with the introduction of the Harrier EV. The KERB EV is expected to have a length of about 4.3 meters and can directly compete against rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRider, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor, and others.

Aside from the EV lineup, Tata also has the Sierra in its pipeline, which could also be equipped with an IC engine version alongside the aforementioned petrol engine. Tata Motors may also consider launching the electric Safari in the Indian market.
