Success Story: In a country where civil services are viewed with prestige and reverence, the journey of four siblings to IAS and IPS stands as a testament to perseverance, dedication, and the transformative power of education.

Kshama Mishra, an IPS officer of the Karnataka cadre, reminisced about her early ambitions. “Ever since childhood, my dream was to join the civil services and serve the nation,” she stated. After obtaining her graduation degree, she tied the knot but didn’t let matrimony deter her ambition. She attempted the UPSC exam three times. However, each time she fell short by a few marks, leaving her crestfallen but not defeated.

The turning point came in 2013 when her elder brother, Yogesh Mishra, intervened. Recognizing the potential in his sister, Yogesh, originally from Lalganj tehsil of Pratapgarh, pointed out some gaps in her preparation. Taking a bold step, he left his flourishing engineering job to embark on a journey of preparing for the civil services himself. A year later, in 2014, he became an officer in the Indian Engineering Services.

Witnessing the struggles faced by his younger sisters, Yogesh decided to take on the gargantuan challenge of the country’s most rigorous examination. He proclaimed in 2012, “I’ll attempt the UPSC exam. Once I crack it, I’ll share the secret formula for success with my sisters.”

True to his words and his confidence, he had just one shot at cracking the UPSC due to age restrictions. Remarkably, he passed it on his first attempt. His formula? A unique reverse study technique that he believed would be a game-changer.

It wasn’t just mere words. After his success, Yogesh imparted this study strategy to his two sisters and another IITian brother. The results? Nothing short of astounding. His first sister, Kshama Mishra, is now an IPS in the Karnataka Cadre, undergoing training in Hyderabad. His second sister, Madhavi Mishra, proudly serves as an IAS officer of the Jharkhand Cadre. Meanwhile, the third sibling, Lokesh Mishra, joined the IAS cadre in Bihar and is currently training in Champaran.

Their father, Anil Mishra, has every reason to be proud. His children not only achieved their personal dreams but became an inspiration for countless others, showing that with dedication, guidance, and the right strategies, even the toughest challenges can be overcome.
