In the vibrant motorcycle universe dominated by brands like Pulsar, TVS is set to make a significant impact with its Raider 125 model. The very first thing that catches the eye about this bike is its distinctive design. With a unique set of headlamps, the Raider doesn’t resemble the typical 125 cc motorcycles we are accustomed to. The all-new full-LED unit is bound to be a hit among consumers, especially when considering its affordable price range, starting under ₹ 1 lakh.
The Raider 125 has an undoubtedly sporty appearance. Some even draw parallels between its look and the TVS Apache, suggesting that the name ‘Apache 125’ might have been more fitting. The front boasts a cross-style LED DRL accompanied by an angular all-LED headlamp, setting it apart from its competitors. Furthermore, its muscular-looking fuel tank adds to its aggressive stance.
Speaking of comfort while riding, the Raider 125 offers an upright riding position. This ergonomic design, while being sporty, ensures comfort for the rider. The split seats are not only stylish but also quite cozy. Dimension-wise, the bike has a height of 780 mm, making it suitable even for individuals around 5 feet tall. With a wheelbase of 1,326 mm and ground clearance of 180 mm, the Raider is both stable and versatile on various terrains.
Under the hood, the Raider boasts a robust engine. The new TVS Raider comes equipped with a 124.8 CC single-cylinder engine capable of generating a maximum power of 11.38 PS and peak torque of 11.2 Newton meters. This powerful engine is paired with a 5-speed gearbox.
Performance-wise, in its eco mode, the Raider can reach speeds up to approximately 94 km/h, and in its power mode, it can touch up to 104 km/h. The company claims an impressive mileage of 67 km per liter. One of its standout features is the fuel-saving technology which automatically shuts off the bike during prolonged halts, like at traffic lights. The Raider 125 also comes with modern features such as call and SMS alerts, navigation, digital locker, and app-based functionalities. For added convenience, a charging point near the fuel tank allows riders to charge their mobile phones on the go.
Priced starting at ₹ 77,500 and going up to ₹ 86,437 (ex-showroom), the TVS Raider is available in two variants, with the top variant priced at ₹ 86,469. With such features and pricing, the TVS Raider 125 is certainly poised to shake up the motorcycle market.
