Maruti Suzuki’s Grand Vitara has achieved a new milestone in the mid-size SUV segment by reaching sales of one lakh units in its first year. This SUV has received praise from customers since its launch and its monthly sales reflect its popularity.

According to the country’s largest carmaker, the strong hybrid and AWD variants of the Grand Vitara are particularly popular. The strong hybrid variant is available with an E-CVT transmission and claims to provide mileage of 27.97 kilometers per liter. It also boasts features like front ventilated seats, a 360-degree camera system, and a head-up display.

Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer at Maruti Suzuki India Limited, Marketing and Sales, said, “For over four decades, Maruti Suzuki has remained at the forefront of the automotive industry, establishing itself as a benchmark with its revolutionary product portfolio. The launch of the Grand Vitara last year marked the beginning of a new era, providing SUV enthusiasts across the country with a truly splendid experience.”

The Grand Vitara has played a significant role in helping Maruti Suzuki gain a larger market share in the SUV segment alongside the second-generation Brezza and recently launched Froxn. Currently, the brand holds a 22% market share in the SUV segment, with the Grand Vitara contributing to approximately 20% of total sales from Nexa dealerships.

With its prominent grille and high ground clearance, the mid-size SUV features a robust design based on Nexa’s ‘Crafted Futurism’ design language. It is available in a total of 12 variants and can be purchased with mild-hybrid, strong hybrid, or CNG options.

The Grand Vitara is based on Suzuki’s global C platform and shares many similarities with the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hybrid. Recently, Maruti Suzuki introduced an Acoustic Vehicle Alert System (AVAS) in its hybrid variant to enhance safety measures.
