The demand for electric vehicles is steadily increasing in the country, and companies are now working to meet that demand. At the same time, the central government is also working to strengthen the roads in every corner of the country. The Modi government has recently announced the idea of building the first electric highway between Delhi and Jaipur.

In a recent month, Nitin Gadkari, the Minister of Road Transport and Highways, also announced that the government is considering the expansion of the electric highway due to its economic viability. He stated that the dream is to build the first electric highway in India between Delhi and Jaipur.

The planned electric highway between Delhi and Jaipur will be 200 kilometers long. Along with this, a new lane will be prepared along the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, which will be transformed into an electric highway.

To build an electric highway, three different technologies are used worldwide, including the pantograph model, induction model, and conductive model. The pantograph model involves running electricity through a wire placed on the road surface, which then supplies power to electric vehicles through direct engine electricity, enabling them to run on the roads.

One of the major benefits of the electric highway will be reduced travel costs, as it is expected to cut nearly 70% of the current transportation expenses. Moreover, it will allow people to travel longer distances at a lower cost and provide relief from dependence on petrol and diesel.

And in the last I want to say that, the development of the first electric highway in India marks a significant step towards sustainable and eco-friendly transportation options, which will also contribute to reducing travel costs and dependence on traditional fuels.
