TVS Motor Company, one of the leading two-wheeler manufacturers in India, has recently registered a new trademark for the name “Apache RTX”. This indicates the company’s plans to enter the adventure bike segment in the country. With the adventure bike segment gaining popularity in India, TVS is aiming to capture this market with its new offering.

The upcoming TVS Apache RTX is likely to be based on the existing 310cc platform and will compete with bikes like the Royal Enfield Himalayan 452, KTM 390 Adventure, Hero XPulse 400, and the upcoming Jawa Adventure. The 310cc platform, shared by BMW and TVS, has already been utilized in various motorcycles such as the TVS Apache RR 310, Apache RTR 310, BMW G310 R, BMW G310 RR, and BMW G310 GS.

The design of the TVS Apache RTX is expected to feature elements similar to its BMW counterpart, but with some unique styling elements. It will be offered in multiple variants and color options, similar to what we have seen with the Apache RR 310.

In terms of hardware, the bike is expected to come equipped with top-tier components such as USD forks, LED lights, a fully digital instrument cluster, smartphone connectivity, and switchable rear ABS. The powertrain for the new TVS adventure bike is likely to be the familiar 312cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that generates 34 bhp of power and 28 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

With TVS already having the experience of producing adventure bikes through its association with BMW, the development time for the Apache RTX is expected to be reduced. We can expect the TVS Apache RTX to be launched next year.
