Uttar Pradesh (UP), a significant northern state of India, is set to witness an extensive infrastructural development. Plans are underway to construct a robust network of industrial cities alongside five major expressways. As part of this project, 84 villages spanning across 23 districts linked to three expressways have been identified. These villages will soon become the focal points for land acquisition, paving the way for the establishment of these industrial cities adjacent to the expressways.

Anil Sagar, the Principal Secretary of the Industrial Development Department, has notified these villages under 23 tehsils of the corresponding districts for the establishment of industrial cities. The responsibility of acquiring the land in the highlighted villages rests with the Uttar Pradesh Industrial Development Authority (UPIDA). Each industrial city will require land ranging from 100 to 600 acres. Soon, villages adjacent to the Agra-Lucknow Expressway and Gorakhpur Link Expressway will also be notified for similar developments, thus expanding the industrial city network across 32 districts in total.

Once UPIDA acquires the land, infrastructural developments, including basic amenities, will commence. Investors will then be presented with an opportunity to set up their industries at their preferred locations. Initial emphasis will be given to warehousing and logistics industries. These industrial cities will cater to a variety of sectors such as electronics, hosiery, food processing units, chemicals, dairy processing, pharmaceuticals, machinery plants, IT, and agriculture-based units.

Shrihari Pratap Shahi, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer, commented on the strategic importance of these industrial cities. Their proximity to expressways ensures faster transportation of goods, giving a significant boost to specialty products of each district.

The article also goes on to list various villages and tehsils from districts like Meerut, Hapur, Amroha, and many more that are earmarked for this ambitious project. These specific locations have been chosen strategically across expressways such as the Purvanchal Expressway, Bundelkhand Expressway, and others to ensure seamless connectivity and transportation.

Uttar Pradesh is set to undergo a massive transformation. By leveraging its expansive network of expressways and developing industrial cities along them, the state aims to fortify its economic stature while providing ample employment opportunities to its residents.
