TVS Motors, a reputed name in the Indian automobile industry, is taking a more aggressive stance in its product strategy tailored for the Indian market. As we ushered in this year, the company introduced the brand-new Apache RTR 310 and the TVS X electric scooter. Now, as the festive season beckons, they’ve launched a new enticing special edition – the Ronin 225, named the Ronin TD, priced at INR 1.73 lakh (ex-showroom).
A Spotlight on Ronin TD Special Edition: This special edition is not just a name change but boasts several upgrades, primarily being its fresh paint scheme. Adorned in a new triple-tone Nimbus Grey color, it reflects an artistry of modern design. The primary shade is a sleek grey, complemented by secondary white highlights. However, what catches the eye is the red color, manifesting itself in stylish stripes across the bike.
The branding of the Ronin prominently displayed on the rim accentuates its distinct identity. The bike’s lower parts are finely finished in a black shade, providing a stark contrast and depth to its overall look. Even the headlamp bezel gets the blackout treatment, enriching the bike’s aesthetics. But it’s not just about looks.
The Ronin TD is kitted out with added accessories like a USB charger, a visor, and an FI cover. Taking care of suspension duties are the USD front forks and a rear mono-shock unit with a 7-step adjustable preload. Furthermore, safety is amped up with disc brakes on both ends and dual-channel ABS.
Engine and Performance: Under the hood, the new TVS Ronin is powered by a 225.9cc single-cylinder engine, paired with a 5-speed gearbox. This engine is proficient enough to churn out 20.4PS at 7,750rpm and peak torque of 19.93Nm at 3,750rpm. To ensure a smooth riding experience, the motorcycle also incorporates a slip-and-assist clutch.
