Tata Altroz Racer : Tata Motors recently showcased the Altroz Racer at the 2023 Auto Expo, indicating that the hatchback would be launched soon. However, there haven’t been any further updates, suggesting that the project may have been put on hold. Nevertheless, the Altroz Racer has been spotted during testing recently, and it is expected to be launched early next year.

The latest test model of the Altroz was seen in Maharashtra with a covered camouflage, making it difficult to identify any external features that could indicate it is the Altroz Racer. However, the engine was labeled as “Racer”. The presence of a 6-speed gearbox in the interior was also observed.

The Altroz Racer was previously shown at the Auto Expo 2023 with a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine. This engine produces a maximum power of 120 PS and a peak torque of 170 Nm. It can only be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. The standard version of the Altroz already has a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine, but it produces 110 PS of power and 140 Nm of torque.

The Racer variant offers 10 PS of additional power and 30 Nm of additional torque. It is expected to provide a solid impact on overall driving dynamics and should be capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 10 seconds. Once launched in India, the Tata Altroz Racer will directly compete with the Hyundai i20 N Line.

The Hyundai i20 N Line is equipped with a 1.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine that produces 120 PS of power and 172 Nm of torque. It is available with both a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT transmission. The Altroz Racer features a dual-tone exterior, with a black roof, red hood, black alloy wheels, and black outside mirrors. The interior comes with a black theme with contrasting red touches.

The feature list will be packed similar to the regular Altroz, including connectivity tech, smartphone wireless charger, ventilated front seats, electric sunroof, a fully digital TFT instrument console, and a floating touchscreen infotainment system.
