Success Story: In India, the aroma of tea signifies the beginning of a new day, with its refreshing touch appealing to all ages, especially the youth. Recognizing this, three friends from Indore – Anubhav Dubey, Anand Nayak, and Rahul Patidar – turned the nation’s age-old love for tea into a thriving business idea.

Having witnessed firsthand the allure tea held for students and its ability to revitalize the mind, these three visionaries perceived its market potential. Who could resist the allure of a beverage that uplifts spirits and recharges the body?

With an initial investment of just Rs 3 lakh in 2016, they launched “Chai Sutta Bar.” It didn’t take long for this startup from a tier-II city to gain traction, primarily for its traditional Kulhar tea. By 2020-2021, their turnover astonishingly touched Rs 50 crore.

The success of Chai Sutta Bar lies in its commitment to replicating the authentic tea experience. With the same familiar roadside tea taste, the brand promises a comforting environment to its patrons. Today, with its expanding presence in over 60 markets, it boasts of 165 outlets in India and four international branches.

Starting with only five stores and a staff of 40 in 2016, Chai Sutta Bar’s offerings have grown to include nine distinct tea flavors, each priced uniformly. The menu ranges from Rs 10 to Rs 150, featuring an array of delicious options – from Chocolate, Rose, and Ginger tea to a selection of refreshing smoothies, cold coffees, shakes, and more. Their recently introduced ice crushers in strawberry, kiwi, and blueberry are a hit among customers, especially during the sweltering summers.

By December 2021, Chai Sutta Bar plans to further extend its reach, targeting over 200 outlets. Its roots in Indore, a hub of academic activity, played a significant role in shaping its identity. The brand’s inception can be traced back to the founders’ vision of coupling traditional “cutting tea” with a cozy ambiance.

This innovative venture has not only transformed the trio’s idea into a prominent startup but has also provided livelihoods to 250 potter families. Since its inception, a staggering 3.5 crore Kulhars have been used across their cafes, emphasizing their commitment to tradition and sustainability.

the journey of Chai Sutta Bar is a testament to the fact that when passion meets purpose, success is inevitable. From Indore to international shores, this startup’s story serves as an inspiration for budding entrepreneurs.
