Maruti Suzuki Swift: The new generation of Maruti Suzuki Swift made its global debut at the Tokyo Motor Show 2023 and will be launched in India in the first quarter of 2024. The event in Tokyo showcased the concept form of the fourth-generation Swift, which boasts several changes in both its interior and exterior design. The compact hatchback, under the Maruti Suzuki banner, will be available for sale in India in early 2024.

In terms of design, the exterior features sleek LED headlights, L-shaped LED daytime running lights, an updated clamshell bonnet, a new hexagonal grille section with new inserts, and an updated front bumper with larger air intakes. Flipped C-shaped signatures and newly designed dual-tone alloy wheels add to the aesthetics of the new Swift. Furthermore, the updated rear bumper features a redesigned reflector along with a high-mounted stop lamp, an integrated spoiler, and an aerial antenna. The door handles have been placed in their traditional position on the C-pillar.

In terms of safety, Maruti Suzuki has strengthened the Heartect architecture to provide better safety. The new Swift concept incorporates safety features such as Dual-Sensor Brake Support II (collision mitigation braking), adaptive high beam system, and driver monitoring system.

The updated interior of the Swift includes an updated center console and dashboard, along with a multi-functional flat-bottom steering wheel. Other key attractions include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a 9-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, push-button start/stop, new air conditioning vents with toggle control, a new climate control display, and a semi-digital instrument cluster.

Under the hood, the new Swift is equipped with a new 1.2-liter 3-cylinder strong hybrid petrol engine, capable of providing a mileage of 35 to 40 km per liter. In India, it will be sold with the existing 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine from the K-series. A similar update is expected for the Dzire next year, and a new Swift Sport variant will be introduced in several international markets.
