It wasn’t an easy path to IAS for Ashutosh. While his initial two attempts did not yield the desired outcome, his third attempt brought him into the IPS cadre. However, his heart was set on the IAS. Not one to settle, Ashutosh gave it another shot, and his persistence bore fruit in the fourth attempt.

Ashutosh’s determination can be traced back to his roots. His parents, who had been wedded as children, never let societal norms deter their quest for knowledge. Especially his father, who pursued education even post-marriage, exemplified the significance of learning.

For higher studies, Ashutosh moved to Kanpur. He enrolled in HBTI, completing his B.Tech. Subsequently, he entered the professional realm, kickstarting his career.

Ashutosh’s elder brother had similar aspirations of joining the IAS. He came close, reaching the interview stage, but couldn’t clinch the final selection. Ashutosh vividly remembers the day he accompanied his brother to check the results.

Witnessing his brother’s disappointment ignited a fire in Ashutosh. He resolved not only to chase the dream for himself but to fulfill his brother’s aspirations as well. With renewed determination, he left his job and dove headfirst into UPSC preparation.
