Indian Railways holds immense significance in the lives of common people, with millions traveling by train every day. During festive seasons like Diwali and Chhath, the number of train travelers significantly increases.

In preparation for the upcoming Diwali (2023) and Chhath (2023) festivals, the Indian Railways has announced the operation of 283 special trains. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw stated that these 283 special trains would run during Diwali and Chhath to ensure that passengers reach their destinations. This effort will involve a total of 4,480 trips.

Different Railway Zones to Operate Special Trains According to the information provided by Indian Railways, the East Central Railway will operate 42 special trains, covering a total of 512 trips. Similarly, the Western Railway will operate 36 special trains, ensuring that 1,262 trips transport passengers to their destinations.

The North Western Railway will operate 24 special trains, facilitating a total of 1,208 trips. It’s important to note that cities like New Delhi, Anand Vihar, Patna, Saharsa, Jogbani, Gorakhpur, Barauni, Muzaffarpur, Gaya, Lucknow, Darbhanga, Katihar, and more will benefit from this festive season’s convenience.

Additionally, Indian Railways is gearing up to take strict action against travelers who undertake journeys without tickets during this festive season. The Railway Board has instructed senior officers from every zone to crack down on ticketless travelers, ensuring that passengers with valid tickets do not face any inconvenience.
