In the bustling SUV market, Hyundai makes a definitive statement with its latest offering, the Hyundai Exter. Designed to challenge the popularity of the Tata Punch, which is often recognized as an affordable SUV option, the Exter is not only budget-friendly, starting at a price of 6 lakh ex-showroom, but also packs a punch with its array of features and robust design.

Design and Aesthetics:

One of the standout features of the Hyundai Exter is its design. The micro-SUV boasts a unique parametric grille complemented by H-signature LED Daytime Running Lights, projector headlamps, and skid plates. The tail-lamp design also carries the distinct H-signature lighting pattern. Adding a touch of sportiness to its appearance are the diamond-cut alloy wheels. Furthermore, the Exter promises an impressive ground clearance, ensuring it doesn’t just look good but can also tackle a variety of terrains.

Innovative Features:

Hyundai doesn’t hold back on innovative features. The Exter might come equipped with a dual-camera setup, allowing recordings from both front and rear cameras. Users can expect a 2.31-inch LCD display which can be integrated with smartphones for multiple recording modes, including driving, event (security), and vacation (time-lapse). Moreover, the dashcam supports full HD video recording and can also be used for taking photos or selfies.

Safety Comes First:

Safety is paramount for Hyundai, and the Exter 2023 showcases this commitment with over 40 safety features. Some highlights include six airbags, 3-point seatbelts for all passengers, seatbelt reminders, keyless entry, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), rear parking sensors, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), and a burglar alarm. Hyundai ensures that passengers are protected from every angle.

Engine and Mileage:

Under the hood, the Exter offers two powertrain options. One is a 1.2-liter Kappa petrol engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission and a Smart Auto AMT. The alternative engine is a 1.2-liter bio-fuel Kappa petrol CNG engine, coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission. As for fuel efficiency, the petrol version promises a mileage of 19kmpl, while the CNG variant delivers an impressive 27kg.km.
