Hyundai Exter: Hyundai India Limited is determined to prioritize safety in its recent lineup of vehicles. The South Korean automobile company has announced that it will sell all its vehicles in the domestic market with six airbags as standard fitment, making it the first car manufacturer in India to do so.

As part of its commitment to establish new safety standards, the second largest car manufacturer in the country confirmed that 60% of its portfolio will be equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) by the beginning of next year. Furthermore, Hyundai aims to equip all its cars with ADAS by 2026. Entry-level models such as the Grand i10 Nios compact hatchback, Aura compact sedan, and Venue micro SUV will be included in this feature.

Currently, Hyundai offers ADAS in its latest generation models, including the Vernas sedan, Creta SUV, and Ioniq 5. There are also plans to introduce these driver-assistance and safety technologies in the upcoming facelifted version of the Creta and the updated Alcazar next year. The facelifted Creta will come with Level 2 ADAS.

Some key highlights of the ADAS package include Stop and Go with Smart Cruise Control, Front Collision Warning (FCW), Front Collision Assist, Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW), Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA), Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning (RCCW), Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA), Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Following Assist, and High Beam Assist.

In addition to the ADAS features, Hyundai currently offers four airbags as standard in base variants of the Grand i10 Nios, Aura, and Venue, while top-end trims come with six airbags. All models in the Hyundai range come with three-point seatbelts with reminders as a standard feature.

Hyundai’s commitment to safety has earned the new generation Vernas sedan a five-star rating for both adult and child occupant safety in Global NCAP tests. The sedan is equipped with six airbags as standard fitment.

By implementing advanced safety technologies, Hyundai continues to prioritize the safety of its customers and raise the bar for safety standards in the Indian automotive market.
