Childhood in Mahendragarh, Haryana
Nestled in the heart of Haryana, Mahendragarh witnessed the upbringing of a determined girl named Divya Tanwar. Tragedy struck her life early, losing her father when she was around 8 or 9 years old. But under the resilient and nurturing care of her mother, Divya, along with her two siblings, grew with strength and perseverance.
Educational Beginnings
Divya’s scholastic journey began at the local village government school where she completed her education up to the 5th grade. Recognizing her potential and commitment, she then moved to Navodaya Vidyalaya, where she continued her education from 6th to 12th grade. Here, she cultivated the foundation that would eventually lead her to incredible heights.
Inspired to Aim High
A pivotal moment in Divya’s life came during a school annual function. An SDM in attendance left a lasting impression on her, igniting a desire to achieve a similar stature in society. Fueled by this newfound inspiration, Divya pursued and successfully completed her bachelor’s degree in science.
UPSC Triumph
Upon graduation, with unwavering determination, Divya embarked on her UPSC preparation journey. Displaying her innate brilliance, she cracked the UPSC exam in 2021 on her very first attempt, securing an impressive rank of 438. Remarkably, at the time of her achievement, she was just 21 and was subsequently allocated the Manipur cadre.
Self-reliance and Unwavering Support
Perhaps the most commendable aspect of Divya’s journey was her ability to prepare for the UPSC exams without any formal coaching. Given the financial constraints of her family, this was a necessary choice. However, undeterred by their circumstances, Divya’s mother remained her steadfast pillar of support, even taking up labor-intensive work in fields and providing housekeeping services to ensure her daughter’s dreams weren’t compromised.
