In a society where marriage often means the end of a woman’s ambitions, Pushpalata Yadav’s story stands out. Born in the small village of Khusbura, Haryana, Pushpalata’s journey began with humble beginnings. Her initial education was rooted in this village, a place where dreams often remain just that.

She pursued her academic interests diligently, earning a B.Sc degree and later completing her post-graduation and MBA by 2016. The world of academia seemed to fit her well, but little did she know that destiny had other plans.

Post her MBA, Pushpalata ventured into the corporate world, securing a role as an Assistant Manager in the State Bank of Hyderabad. It was during these years that she found her life partner, marrying in 2011. Life was settling into a predictable routine when the itch to do more began.

A mere four years post her marriage, she took the bold step of resigning from her stable job at the bank in 2015. With a dream of joining the Indian Administrative Service, Pushpalata set her sights on the daunting UPSC Civil Services Examination. While most might have been apprehensive, Pushpalata found unwavering support in her husband and in-laws. They championed her dream, with her husband taking on the mantle of caregiver for their son during her rigorous preparation.

The road to success is never easy. Her initial attempts at cracking the UPSC exams in her first and second tries were unsuccessful. However, with resilience and the continued encouragement from her family, Pushpalata took on the challenge once more. The third attempt proved to be the charm. In 2017, she not only cleared the UPSC exams but secured an impressive All India rank of 80th.
