The Milestone Achievement:

Dongre’s journey culminated in securing the 410th rank in the UPSC CSE 2022 exam with an impressive score of 961 marks.

An Early Loss:

Life threw its first curveball at Dongre when he lost his father at the tender age of 4. But, the tragedy also sparked an ambition in him to become an IAS officer.

A Mother’s Sacrifice:

To keep the family afloat after the demise of his father, Dongre’s mother took up the role of a mid-day meal cook, earning a modest monthly salary of Rs 1,500.

Roots in Tungada Village:

Hailing from Tungada, a village in Asifabad, Telangana, Dongre’s initial education was from the village government school. Despite the challenges, he held onto his dream, initially aspiring to be an engineer.

The IIT Dream:

Displaying academic brilliance, Dongre cleared the AIEEE with a commendable rank, landing a seat in IIT Madras. However, financial constraints threatened to derail his engineering dreams.

Community Support:

With determination, Dongre sought help, and thanks to crowdfunding initiatives and support from the Collectorate, he managed to secure the necessary fees for his IIT admission.

Academic Achievements:

Dongre’s brilliance shone brightly as he completed his Integrated Course in Chemical Engineering from IIT Madras in 2017. Subsequently, he also clinched the 70th rank in the GATE exam.

Undeterred Ambition:

Even after securing a government position in the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), his dream of becoming an IAS officer remained unshaken. In 2020, Dongre juggled his job and UPSC preparation.

Perseverance Pays Off:

In his first UPSC attempt in 2021, Dongre missed the cut by a whisker, falling short by just 2 marks. However, instead of accepting defeat, he resigned from his job to focus solely on his next attempt. This dedication bore fruit in 2022 when he achieved his long-held dream, not just for himself but also for his mother.
