This expressway was announced by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath during the Kumbh Mela in 2019. Now he wants it to start before the upcoming Mahakumbh, which is starting from January 14 next year. The design speed of the expressway will be 120 kilometers per hour. This expressway will pass through 518 villages in 12 districts.

Let me tell you that this expressway will start from Bijauli village on Meerut-Bulandshahr Highway and end near Judapur Dadu village on NH 19 in Prayagraj. At present, the longest expressway in India is the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, which is more than 1,350 kilometers long. Whereas at second place is Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway which is a little more than 700 kilometers long.

It is estimated that the journey between Meerut and Prayagraj may be reduced by only 4 to 5 hours. Apart from this, a 3.50 km long airstrip will be built in Shahjahanpur to land big planes in case of emergency. And two big bridges are also to be constructed on the rivers Ganga and Ramganga.
