Prashant Kishor, a notable political strategist in India, is currently focused on a new mission: to challenge the political dominance of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Yadav. Through his initiative, the Jan Suraj Yatra, Kishor aims to reshape the political landscape of Bihar.

Kishor pointed out a critical aspect of Bihar’s economy – its reliance on other states and regions for basic commodities and opportunities. He noted that many everyday items, such as mobiles, radios, and TVs, are manufactured outside of Bihar, primarily in states like Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.

Additionally, he highlighted that even fundamental construction materials like rods and cement are sourced from neighboring states like Jharkhand, Odisha, and Madhya Pradesh. This observation underscores the economic challenges faced by Bihar, which is heavily dependent on external sources for its basic needs.

One of the most poignant aspects of Kishor’s address was his commentary on the youth of Bihar. He painted a grim picture of young individuals who, upon reaching adulthood, are compelled to leave their homes in search of labor opportunities.

Kishor likened this exodus to the movement of sheep and goats, with young men boarding trains and buses to work as laborers in other regions. This situation, he explained, is a cycle of hardship where these young workers endure tough conditions to send money back home, ensuring the survival of their families in Bihar.

Kishor also shed light on the voting behavior of the Muslim community in Bihar. He asserted that, in an effort to counter the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), many in the Muslim community consistently support Lalu Yadav’s RJD, symbolized by the lantern. This trend, according to Kishor, is a strategic choice by the community to align with a party that they believe can effectively oppose the BJP.
