The Indian automaker Mahindra has recently started working on the updated MPV Bolero, which is the best-selling vehicle in the Indian auto market. The new generation of Mahindra Bolero is expected to hit the market by 2026. However, models like Thar, XUV700, and Scorpio-N are currently very popular among customers, and the demand for these models is on the rise.

The Mahindra Bolero recorded impressive sales last year, gaining popularity in both urban and rural markets. Due to this reason, the new generation of Bolero is being prepared for launch in 2026. It will be built on a completely new platform, the U171 platform, providing a unique and special driving experience.

It has been reported that over the next 10 years, Mahindra will invest more than 2000 crore rupees in the development of new car architectures. This platform will be utilized for introducing new models in both domestic and international markets, including both SUVs and pickup trucks. At least 3 SUVs are planned to be built on the U171 platform, with an expected annual sales volume of around 150,000 units, which will help the company to maintain the sale of older generation cars and continue to make progress in the passenger-commercial segment.

In addition to the new SUVs, a pickup truck will also be introduced on the U171 platform. The next-generation Bolero is expected to be launched in India by 2026-27, followed by the introduction of a pickup truck based on the same platform by the end of 2027.

This strategic move by Mahindra indicates the company’s commitment to innovation and adaptation to the evolving market trends. The use of a new platform and the introduction of a range of new vehicles demonstrate Mahindra’s determination to meet the demands of both domestic and international customers.
