Kia is set to unveil its new compact SUV offering, the Sportage Hybrid, in a market where the demand for 5-seater family cars is soaring. In this bustling segment dominated by the likes of Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai, Kia’s entry is poised to heat up the competition. The Sportage Hybrid will be locking horns with established models such as the Hyundai Alcazar and the MG Hector.
The Sportage isn’t just another addition to the lineup; it arrives with a bag full of premium features that set it apart. The interior design exudes luxury with an infotainment system and an instrument cluster that are seamlessly integrated.
It sports a single-piece display that not only looks sleek but also enhances the cabin’s premium feel, complemented by strategically placed AC vents. Other notable amenities include a three-spoke steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, and an external mirror memory system to add to its sophisticated interior.
Under the hood, the Kia Sportage Hybrid is equipped with a potent engine complemented by a hybrid powertrain, promising to deliver an impressive 181 bhp of power and a peak torque of around 192 Nm. It doesn’t stop there; the vehicle is also fitted with an all-wheel-drive system, ensuring robust performance across various terrains.
Safety isn’t taken lightly, either, with six airbags, a sunroof for those sunny days out, and a powerful braking system for peace of mind. Rounding off the package is a touchscreen infotainment system, large tires, and alloy wheels for that commanding presence on the road.
When it comes to pricing, the Kia Sportage is expected to start at around INR 25 lakhs. It will be available in six distinct variants to cater to a wide range of preferences. As for its arrival, the Sportage Hybrid is anticipated to grace Indian roads by July 2024, offering a fresh and electrified option for the discerning SUV buyer.
