Electric Car: Suzuki Launches its First Electric Car at the Auto Show in Japan 2023

Suzuki, the renowned automobile manufacturer, recently launched its first electric car at the Japan Auto Show held in 2023. This electric vehicle is based on the eVX concept model, which was showcased at the Auto Expo in Noida, India, in January 2023. Suzuki plans to launch this model in India as well, so let’s delve into its exciting new features.

The Suzuki eVX boasts an impressive range and battery capacity. Equipped with alloy wheels, LED headlights, DRLs, and connect tail lamps, this electric car is designed to turn heads. It has a length of 4300 mm, width of 1800 mm, and height of 1600 mm. Suzuki’s Global Marketing Director and Senior Management Executive stated that production of this electric car will commence in 2024, with a possible global launch in early 2025.

The Suzuki eVX electric car will be based on the Four by Four (4×4) technology. It will feature a dual motor setup and offer a range of up to 500 kilometers on a full charge. However, further details about its specifications and features have not been shared at this time.

Interestingly, there are speculations that Suzuki has designed this car on Toyota’s bz3X electric concept model platform, giving it a touch of Toyota’s expertise. Nonetheless, the features of the eVX are truly remarkable.

The interior of the Suzuki eVX model will be futuristic, featuring a sleek dashboard and a large free-standing dual screen. The first screen can be used as an infotainment system, while the second screen will serve as the driver display. Although the split screen was not seen in the concept model, it is expected to be present in the production-ready model.

Inside the car, customers can expect to find a two-spoke steering wheel, multi-touch controls for climate control, hazard light switch, menu control, and more. The center console will house the gear box, allowing drivers to switch between different driving modes easily.

As of now, Maruti Suzuki has yet to launch an electric car in India. Therefore, the launch of the eVX will prove to be quite advantageous for the company. With major players like Tata and Mahindra already introducing electric cars in the Indian market, the longer Maruti waits, the more market share it stands to lose.
