IND vs PAK: As cricket enthusiasts worldwide eagerly anticipate one of the most exhilarating matches of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, tensions are palpable. The stage is set for a face-off between arch-rivals India and Pakistan at the colossal Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Both cricketing giants have been meticulous in their pre-match preparations, leaving no stone unturned. However, amidst this fervor, Shoaib Akhtar, the former speedster and pride of Pakistan, has voiced a crucial piece of advice for the Pakistani lineup.
IND vs PAK: Taking to his official Twitter account, Shoaib released a video wherein he stated, “Pakistan is no Afghanistan. Babar Azam may not have been in his best form, but he will surely rise to the occasion against India. He is a player made for big matches and will undeniably make a mark.”
Akhtar’s main counsel pertained to the team composition. He opined that Pakistan should rethink its batting order, suggesting the inclusion of Fakhar Zaman in place of Imam-ul-Haq. He lauded Abdullah Shafiq, saying, “Shafiq has brought a much-needed stability to Pakistan’s batting.”
IND vs PAK: While Fakhar Zaman’s bat has been relatively silent this World Cup, his prowess in significant fixtures is undeniable. He had a rather forgettable stint against the Netherlands, managing only 12 runs, which led to his omission from the game against Sri Lanka. But, cricket aficionados vividly remember Zaman’s roaring innings in the Champions Trophy 2017 final against India. This past achievement makes him a viable candidate for a slot in today’s high-voltage match.
With the clock ticking and the world watching, it remains to be seen if Pakistan heeds Akhtar’s advice and if Zaman can recreate his past magic on the grandest stage of all.
