Just a short while ago, the joint venture of Bajaj and Triumph brought the Speed 400 bike to market, and it was met with significant appreciation. Continuing on this successful trajectory, the company has now introduced its latest offering: the Triumph Scrambler 400 X. Crafted on the same hybrid platform as the Speed 400, the Scrambler 400 X’s showroom price stands at 2.63 lakh rupees, which is approximately 30,000 rupees more than the Speed 400 Roadster.
Under the hood of the Triumph Scrambler 400 X is a 398 cc engine based on liquid-cooled technology. This powerhouse is capable of generating a maximum power of 40bhp at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 37.5Nm at 6,500rpm. For optimal performance, the bike’s engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox. Additionally, for a smoother transition between gears, the company has incorporated a slip and assist clutch.
For a premium riding experience, the bike boasts a 43mm big-piston front fork with a 150mm travel and a mono-shock unit with equivalent travel. Enhancing its braking capability is a 320mm front disc. Weighing in at 179 kilograms, the Triumph Scrambler 400 X offers an impressive ground clearance of 195 mm.
Special attention has been given to the bike’s finer details. It includes foot pegs with removable rubber inserts. Speaking of its wheels, the front features a 19-inch wheel while the rear is equipped with a 17-inch one. For added safety, the bike comes with an Anti-lock Braking System (ABS).
Modern Features of Triumph Scrambler 400 X
The company has loaded the Scrambler 400 X with state-of-the-art features, including ride-by-wire throttle, traction control, dual-channel ABS, a semi-digital instrument console, a USB-C charging socket, a full LED lighting system, steering lock, and an anti-theft immobilizer. Moreover, potential buyers will be spoiled for choice with three color options: Matte Khaki Green, Phantom Black, and Carnival Red.
