BMW iX1 Electric SUV Offers 440 km Range and 0-100 km/h in Just 5.6 Seconds
BMW India has announced the launch of the iX1 Electric SUV in the domestic market today, with a price tag of INR 66.9 lakh (ex-showroom) and it is available only in a single fully-loaded trim. The BMW iX1 is based on the regular X1, which is the brand’s highest-selling model in the country. Apart from featuring the iconic badge on the grille section, it shares a similar design to its sibling with an IC engine.
The iX1 Electric SUV is offered in four single-tone color options and comes with sporty-looking 18-inch alloy wheels. The five-seater electric SUV is packed with features and offers practicality with a boot space capacity of 490 liters. The cabin gets a 10.25-inch all-digital instrument console, dual-zone automatic climate control system, and a 12-speaker Harman Cardon audio system along with the latest iDrive OS with a 10.7-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
The equipment list comprises ambient lighting function, dual-pane sunroof, adaptive LED headlamps, powered tailgate, driver and front passenger seats with massage function, aluminum ‘Mesh Effect’ with chrome accents inside, multiple airbags, ADAS-based driver-assist and safety technologies, traction control, anti-lock brakes, etc.
It comes with adaptive suspension, electronic stability program, and artificial pedestrian warning sounds, which can be activated at speeds as low as 30 km/h to alert pedestrians. The BMW iX1 comes with a 66.4 kWh battery pack and a dual-electric motor setup (each driving one axle to create an all-wheel-drive system), developing a combined power output of 313 hp and 494 Nm of peak torque.
It is claimed to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds and has a top speed of 180 km/h. The driving range is claimed to be 440 km on a single charge and it can be charged up to 100 percent using a standard 11 kW AC charger in 6.
